MAGpie is telecaption authoring software for digital video and audio description authoring software for making digital video that can be displayed using QuickTime, RealPlayer, or Windows Media Player accessible to people with vision or hearing disabilities. This software is designed to aid developers of Web- and CD-ROM-based multimedia in making their materials accessible to persons with disabilities. COMPATABILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers or Macintosh computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Microsoft Windows 98, 2000, NT, or XP or Macintosh OSX; 128 megabytes (MB) RAM (256 MB recommended); 32 to 40 MB free space on hard disk for installation of MAGpie; QuickTime Player (required), Java Runtime Edition (required), and GriNS player (optional, Windows only). If using MAGpie to caption or describe RealMedia files, RealPlayer 7 or newer is required; a microphone is required for audio description recording.
