The APS-10 is an audible pedestrian signal designed to aid pedestrians who are blind or have low vision in crossing streets safely. When connected to existing pedestrian signals, it produces separate and distinctive electronic bird chirping sounds for both north/south and east/west crossings. It has a universal mount and is easily installed on any existing pedestrian signal. The sound output of this audible pedestrian signal is 90 decibels (Db) at one meter, with sound output automatically switched to one of two adjustable output levels depending on ambient noise conditions. The sound output is a "cuckoo" with a duration of 0.6 seconds +/- 20 percent for north/south crossings, and a "peep-peep" sound with a duration of 0.2 seconds +/- 20 percent for east-west crossings. This product operates in a temperature range of minus 35 to 165 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 37 to 73 degrees centigrade) with 5 to 95 percent relative humidity. POWER: Uses 115 volts alternating current (AC) +/- 22%; power is fed from the existing signal. DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): 5 x 5 x 3.75 inches. WEIGHT: 3 pounds.
