Max and the Machines is a language tutorial program designed for use by children with cognitive or learning disabilities. This program, which runs entirely from the CD-ROM, introduces children to Max, Magpie, and Selma as they develop skills in sorting, matching, and sequencing. Users move through a six-chapter story featuring diverse characters and families. Colors, letters, words and pictures are explored with a mouse click and rhymes enliven instruction and narration. The level of difficulty is automatically adjusted according to student performance, and a performance profile can be viewed and printed out. COMPATIBILITY For use on IBM and compatible computers with or without a network. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: A 486 or faster processor, Windows 3.1 or higher, MS-DOS 5.0 or higher, 4 megabytes (MB) RAM, 2X speed or faster CD-ROM drive, mouse, sound card, and SVGA graphics and 256 colors.
